Say "I DO" at Cafe Julia Laniakea, Oahu's "Hidden Gem" nestled in the Heart of Downtown Honolulu. We're located directly across the street from "Iolani Palace," the only Palace on U.S. grounds. Our venue, Cafe Julia, is named after the pioneering architect Julia Morgan, one of the few women architects in the 1920s. Laniakea is the first public building in Hawaii to have a female architect, and it is also recognized as an official "Historic Building" in the State of Hawaii. Step into Laniakea and step back 100 years! The charm and character of our building, with its beautiful arches and attention to detail, is truly a work of art. We offer three venue spaces in our "Exclusive" Wedding Package, which is required for weddings of 60 people or more. For smaller weddings of 60 people or less, we have a two-venue space package. The three venue spaces included in the "Exclusive" Wedding Package are the Courtyard, Cafe Julia, and Elizabeth Fuller Hall. At Cafe Julia, we provide ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception services. The ceremony takes place in the Courtyard, and after it is finished, guests will head into Cafe Julia for the cocktail hour. During this time, the couple, wedding party, and family usually take photos. Our staff will then transition the Courtyard from a ceremony set-up to a reception set-up, which typically takes about 25-45 minutes depending on the size of the party. In case of inclement weather, Elizabeth Fuller Hall is available as a backup for the Courtyard reception set-up. You have until 2 hours prior to the ceremony start time to decide if you want to move into the banquet hall. While this is the usual utilization of the space, there are many options available to suit your preferences! Cafe Julia has been praised as a "One Stop Shop" by many coordinating companies in Oahu because we provide numerous in-house services, all included with any Wedding Package you select. We strive to make your wedding planning process as easy as possible by offering as much as we can!
